![]() ![]() Street Fighter Alpha 2's characters blend more of the old with the new. With a custom combo system and new fighters, moves, and backgrounds, Street Fighter Alpha 2 delivers a new but familiar level of fun. Still from this early look, Street Fighter Alpha 2 does the series proud.Ĭontinuing to build on the best, Capcom pushes the envelope again in the Street Fighter series. Most of the gameplay hasn't been tweaked yet. Will these possibilities come true? Diligent gamers are hunting for them.Īt the time of our preview, the game was only 70 percent complete. Retsu, Goken and Gosetsu are also potential secret characters. How this will affect the gameplay once it's finished is unknown.Ĭapcom is known for hiding characters in its games, and rumors are abuzz of Blanks hidden inside as well as a guest appearance from Guile. Once the combo is started, the player can chain moves by tapping a certain combination of Kick and Punch buttons. The three buttons have to be either two Punches and one Kick, or two Kicks and one Punch. To start the special combos, press three buttons simultaneously to start your character glowing (similar to a super combo). There's a new combo system that involves setting up custom programmed moves. All of his attacks-like the Yoga Torpedo, Yoga Flame and Yoga Teleport-are the same long-ranged strikes. There is virtually no change in this character from Street Fighter 2 Turbo. However, his super special attack is particularly deadly.ĭhalsim returns intact. His Fierce Leg Sweep has been slowed down tremendously. This Russian wrestler is somewhat the same. One unique aspect to this original Street Fighter is that he can change his fighting style to a complete set of new moves.ĭue to popular demand, Zangief is back. His attacks are, for the most part, close-range, particularly his Hand Slap. Gen is another of the fighters resembling Tung Fu Ru of the Fatal Fury series. However, she is thought to possibly be a student under Fei Long. Her background history is currently unknown. Her equivalent to the Dragon Punch does a lot more damage than Ryu's, though. Her moves mimic Ryu's, with a spattering of Chun-Li-type attacks. ![]() ![]() Sakaru is a young school girl wearing a sailor suit. His attacking style is close to Vega with lots of nimble flying attacks. He moves just like he did in Final Fight. He looks like a soldier, and his moves involve his baton and grenades. Rolento is a member of the Mad Gear Gang from the Final Fight series. Three new fighters have appeared, as well as two old favorites. Fortunately, you no longer have to do a trick to play as them. With the game totaling 18 characters in all (so far), Akuma, Bison and Dan are now selectable. One of the major changes found in Alpha 2 is the addition of more fighters. One particularly cool effect deals with a small pool of water that splashes and ripples as player’s stomp through it. The new areas feature more details and plenty of animated characters. A lot of players complained that Alpha's levels were boring. While taking the Japanimation look of Alpha, the backgrounds have been redone. What a great time to update the series and breathe new life into the game.Ĭapcom has once again overhauled the Street Fighter series. Capcom has timed the surprise test launch of Street Fighter Alpha 2 to perfectly coincide with the release of the home versions of Alpha. ![]()

You have license son us in the comments if we overlooked anything.Aubrey Drake Graham is an artist who has been through the ringer on his journey to fame. Check them out, in no particular order, below. With the help of every obsessive beatmaker’s best friend WhoSampled, we took a closer look at some of our favourite sample flips in Drake’s catalogue, focusing on the work of 40, Boi-1da, Frank Dukes, 9th Wonder, and many more. From the funk and soul samples that defined his early sound, to the ‘80s vibes and orchestral drones that pop up in more recent material, it’s not always easy to identify a sample in one of Drake’s songs. But, when Drake blesses a sample-driven instrumental with his vocals, it's bound to be an inventive flip.ĭrake’s go-to producers are masters at seeking out obscure sample loops, or warping hugely popular songs into an unrecognizable state, and then seamlessly incorporating them into an instrumental. Drake is by no means known as a sample-based rapper -there are plenty of royalty-free beats in Future The Prince's Serato. On this maturative journey, Drakes’ right-hand producers, Noah “40” Shebib and Matthew “Boi-1da” Samuels, did the bulk of the sonic heavy lifting, giving Aubrey full access to their catalogues of original synth melodies and crate-scouring sample flips. Nearly a decade later, it’s still something we can count on from Drizzy-when he drops a project, you can rest assured it’s going to be a cohesive, meticulously sequenced work of art.ĭrake’s sound has evolved since he dropped Room For Improvement in 2006, from backpack worshipper, to Weezy impressionist, to the emotional luxury rapper we know and love. Even when he was assembling early mixtapes from borrowed beats and instrumentals from then-unknown bedroom producers, the always guy had a clear-cut knack for putting a project together. One of the major keys to Drake’s ongoing success is beat selection. ![]() |
